A toddler with a life-threatening brain tumour desperately needs to travel to America to receive urgent treatment.

Family and friends of two-year-old Ruby Owen have launched a campaign to raise £250,000 to pay for pioneering treatment in the US.

A Valentine’s charity disco was held at Kidsgrove Town Hall on Saturday in support of the youngster.

When this site was first set up, it was aimed purley at members of the Bankeyfields estate, but as time has gone by, users from surrounding areas have joined and had said their say, which I'm very grateful for.

However one thing that puts new people from joining in, is the name. It puts them off. So I'm thinking (just thinking) of running a new name to the site. I was thinking of something like "localtunstall" or something like that.

All of my conent will be based from this neck of the woods, but it will also make it easier for new people to join up, and contribute.

Dear all,

I would like to raise awareness of a little known potentially fatal poison for cats, that of exposure to Lillies.

If like me you get bored of normal, soap filled TV, then you'll be pleased to hear that a few exciting shows are coming back to SKY1 at the start of this year.

Oh joy of joys a bin lorry braved the artic conditions of three inches melting ice and snow to collect the "Blue bin".
Had anyone with a brain cell opened their eyes they would have spotted full grey bins (that were full up from the last missed colection) everywhere.
Now I realise that emtying the grey bins containing rotting food and stinking to high heaven would put a great master plan out, but surely someone could have used their loaf.
Now when they finally come round to empty the grey bin will they be punishing people that have six weeks worth of rubbish.

Well life on the Hoskins Estate as been interesting in this spell of "Global Warming" hasn't it.
Earlier on in the year we had grit bins x2 which promptly dissappeared mid summer.
All enquiries to the council were met with promises of this and that, that never mateialised.
The bus that went through the estate was cancelled, leaving pensioners and disabled people stranded, or having to brave some of the slippiest pavements around the estate.

Google mail has been around for the last five years now, and still not everyone understands what it is and how it can benefit your daily life.

Basically google came late to the party offering a free email system, that comes with a number of rewards.
