Grit Bins / Dog Poo Bins

Posted: Mon, 19/10/2009 - 4:08pm

For the past month or so I have been phoning the council requesting extra grit bins for the estate as winter is fast approaching.

I am also trying to get a further three dog poo bins to be placed on the open space. I have suggested that there should be one placed on the open space at the entry and exit point at the end of Ernest Edgerton Close, one to be placed at the entry and exit to the open space via the top end of John Rhodes Way and another to placed at the entry and exit point at the top of Spitfire Way.

Hopefully this may encourage more people to clean up after their pets and stop people from depositing there poo bags either in the litter bins or just throwing them in the flower beds on the open space. I would appreciate some feed back via this web site and if positive maybe the NHW could press ahead and challenge the council.

I am hoping to bring this up at the next NHW meeting. :)]

Brilliant Bryn, I passed the grit box on John Rhodes Way this week and made a mental note of bringing it up, and then promptly forgot.

If we get there ahead of time, we might get a healthy rationing of grit before the snow and not after.

I'll add it to the agenda, and try and get Megan to come along to press it forward.

I think you've covered every base there and politely said it's not just people from Summer Bank who let their dogs poo, but from this estate to and by providing the bins at the exit points from the open space your leaving dog owners the ideal opportunity to dispose of the poo bags.

try dog poo flags

we made some little flags in islington with the council's logo on and stuck them in the dog poo, took photos and sent them to lots of people (you can do this without touching the offending matter). handy way of reminding th ecouncil it's their responsibiltiy see

POLICE community support officers are to be trained to help council wardens combat graffiti, littering and dog fouling.

The 67 PCSOs operating in Stoke-on-Trent are set to be granted new powers to issue on-the-spot fines for environmental offences.

Poo bins nearly full

The poo bins are now nearing bursting point. I wonder with all this H & S madness if they are not bing emptied incase a council worker slips or falls on the ice. Then again if someone caught a dodgy disease off the overflowing bins could they sue the council ?.

Possibility

Hey, just a thought, since the grit bins are empty - maybe someone could empty the dog poo bins into the grit bins to make more room ;)

Magic !!!!
